Siesta Key Shenanigans

The Traveling Chic Chronicles

Date: July 17 2020 - July 20 2020 ~ My first trip was to Siesta Key Florida located in Sarasota Florida. I choose this location because of the MTV show "Siesta Key" that I never miss watching on Tuesday nights. I absolutely fell in love with the location because it was so beautiful on the show. When I found out it was only an 8 hr drive from my home, the planning began. Here's how my first visit to Siesta Key went.......

Savannah GA Shenanigans

The Traveling Chic Chronicles

Date: Oct. 23 2020 - Oct. 25 2020 ~ Our second trip was to the beautiful and historical Savannah Ga. I chose this location because of it's vast history and beauty. Savannah is filled with lots of attractions to see and things to do. Savannah's historical downtown area is full of shops, restaurants, hotels and the riverfront where they offer a number of  river boat rides. Another added feature to Savannah is the short drive to Tybee Island. Here you can enjoy the beautiful coast while entertaining yourself at one of the beach's restaurant or gift shops.

Miami Fl  Shenanigans

The Traveling Chic Chronicles

Date: June 4 2021- June 7 2021 ~ Our first trip in 2021 was to the beautiful Miami Fl. I chose this location because (1) I love the beach and what better beach to go to than Hot Miami! Miami has so much to offer. Beautiful beach, blazing nightlife, and delicious Cuban food are just a few highlights...

St. Augustine Shenanigans

The Traveling Chic Chronicles

Date: July 9 2021 - July 12 2021 ~ On this trip we visited the beautiful and historic city of St. Augustine FL. Located right between Jacksonville and Daytona, St. Augustine is a small city but has big city charm. Downtown is the essence of Spanish culture with its historical buildings and a historical fort that you can adventure through. I chose this location just by chance, looking for a new place to go. This trip I took the whole gang with me and we had a blast. When I tell you it couldn't been a better place to just run across by chance.....When I plan to move to Florida, this is definitely #1 on my list.

Atlanta, GA Shenanigans

The Traveling Chic Chronicles

Date: Sept.3 2021 - Sept. 5 2021 ~ Labor Day weekend we spent a relaxing get-away in Hot Lanta (Atlanta, GA for those who didn't know it's nickname). Atlanta is just a 2 hour drive from our home which is so convenient. Atlanta is known for its shopping, diverse places to eat, nightlife and the variety of events that take place year around. While we were there in downtown on Peachtree, a Cosplay event was going on and there were hundreds of people dressed in costume as characters. It was so interesting to see especially since nothing like that takes place in Montgomery. We also ran across an African themed festival located in  Atlantic Station where African culture was being celebrate with music, food and African items that could be purchased.

Crosby,TN Shenanigans

The Traveling Chic Chronicles

Date: Oct. 22 2021 - Oct. 24 2021 ~ For my birthday I went to the beautiful mountains in Cosby, TN. Located in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, Cosby is about 20 minutes from Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge and 30 minutes away from Knoxville, TN . The cabin we stayed in was the best location. There was a local highway near but the small amount of traffic could not be heard. It was the essence of peacefulness. The shear massiveness of the mountains simply took my breath away.(This is actually the second time I've been to the mountains)  Newport was about 10 minutes away which made it so convenient to shop for groceries because we did not eat out this vacation. I actually cooked the entire weekend. I relaxed in the hot tub while watching football with some beers and the boys made a fire and cooked smores. We also went to Gatlinburg which is absolutely beautiful in the fall and full of tourists. In Gatlinburg we visited shops, and attended a corn whiskey sampling which was actually delicious.  This was one vacation I did not want to leave.

Trenton,GA Shenaigans

The Traveling Chic Chronicles

Date: Dec.31 2021 - Jan.2 2022~ This New Year's we spent bringing the New Year in an amazing treehouse called" The Enchanting Treehouse" located in Trenton, Ga. This was a totally awesome vacation in an extremely unique place. Trenton, Ga is about 3 hours away from Alabama, so it was a relatively short trip for us. Trenton is also 30 minutes away from Knoxville, TN which we did get to visit. While in Knoxville I  finally had a chance to try PF Changs. Delicious!!!  Anyways... I chose this location because I am absolutely fascinated with treehouses. Had one as a child and loved it. This treehouse owned by Susan Millican and her husband, was so beautifully built on a remote trail located in the back of their home and situated perfectly within the wooden area. The accommodations and the way they had everything set up was beyond anything you could imagine. They provided a golf cart to get you to the treehouse, we arrive later in the evening and the trail was beautifully lit with hanging lights to guide you safely to the treehouse at night. There was an electrically butler that you could load your luggage in and send up the treehouse. Just amazing accommodations!! While here in Trenton we experienced a big storm that triggered a tornado warning with the sirens and everything. Yes we were terrified!! With the heavy rain and wind, you could feel the swaying of the trees that the house was built in. Can you say scary!!! But our great hosts already had a "bad weather" plan put into place. The owner put us safely in their own home that had a storm shelter until the storm had past. Talk about "WONDERFUL HOSTS"!! Overall I recommend this location to anyone adventurous and will definitely return to the Enchanted Treehouse. Hopefully next time with my Prince Charming.....

Stone Mountain, GA Shenaigans

The Traveling Chic Chronicles

Date: February 11 2022 - February 13 2022 ~ It's my son's big 16th birthday!! We rented this beautiful house in Stone Mountain, GA where him and his friends enjoyed the weekend playing pool, cooking out, shopping and going to the local skating rink. It was definitely a weekend that he and his friends would remember....

St. Augustine, FL Shenaigans

The Traveling Chic Chronicles

Date: July 2 2022 - July 5 2022 ~ Yes we are back in my favorite place St. Augustine. I really wanted to spend the Fourth of July away so we decided to come back to a cute little St.Augustine home that I rented. We really enjoyed the beach and the whole stay.

Rio Grande Puerto Rico Shenaigans

The Traveling Chic Chronicles

Date: August 4 2022- August 8 2022 ~ Puerto Rico baby!!! I went on a trip of a lifetime when I took my first trip out of the country to beautiful Puerto Rico.  This trip was also my first plane ride and it was an absolutely amazing experience. I was nervous before going on the trip but when I got on the plane and took off, all my fears went away. Looking out the window during a flight is breathtaking and I was so overwhelmed with emotions. Being in a different country is something to really get use to. The language barrier was the most difficult to cross when you are in a country where you don't speak the primary language. Our experiences eating out were the most trying but thank God we were able to find people who could speak a little English in order for us to get food. Moral of the story: I'm learning Spanish!!! We had a wonderful time shopping and exploring the island of  Puerto Rico. Definitely a return to location. Visit my "Living Quarters" page to see the beautiful house we stay at while in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
